Hallett Cove Community Children’s Centre is a place where children, families, and educators learn together within a rich, connected community. We provide high-quality care and education that values each child as a capable, curious, and active participant in their learning, within a nurturing and inclusive environment.

We believe early childhood is a time of deep meaning-making. Through relationships, exploration, and play, children construct knowledge and develop a strong sense of identity, wellbeing, and belonging. Learning is viewed as a collaborative process, supported by responsive educators and environments that invite inquiry, creativity, and discovery.

Our professional team is committed to reflective, research-informed practice. Critical reflection, documentation, and dialogue guide our work, enabling us to listen deeply to children, families, and one another, and to continually evolve our practice to support rich learning experiences.

We value and respect Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and acknowledge the importance of connection to land, community, and shared histories in children’s learning.

Our vision is to be a vibrant community hub—one that nurtures relationships, supports families, and creates spaces where children’s voices are heard, their ideas are valued, and learning is made visible.

Our Aim is to provide:

We believe that all children:

Have the right to feel safe and secure at all times.

Learn through play – play that is supported, not directed, by educators.

Have the right to develop to their full potential in all areas, in a non sexist/non biased environment.

Must be recognised as individuals, with their individual and cultural needs being respected.

Learn best when parents/guardians and caregivers work in partnership with each other.

Have the right to be offered a curriculum that fosters their curiosity, initiative, independence and life skills.

Have the right to nutritious, well balanced meals.

Should be encouraged to risk take and develop resilience.

  • Community involvement is important to Hallett Cove Community Children’s Centre.

  • We aim to make the centre a part of the larger community by taking an active interest in other group’s activities.

  • We work closely with our local kindy and we are also involved in community events and reciprocally, we invite the community to be involved in ours.

  • We aim to provide social opportunities for children, families, staff and the wider community to get to know each other in order to strengthen our position within the community.

  • We aim to create a community within the community, to which children, families and staff belong.
