FLEURIEU ROOM
Children ages 6 weeks to 2 and a half years old.
HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE FLEURIEU ROOM
Children can start in the Fleurieu Room from 6 weeks old and stay until they are around 2 and half years of age when they continue their journey into the Yorke Room. Children learn and grow so much and we aim to work in partnership with you to foster this development.
We value family at Hallett Cove Community Children’s Centre and count it a privilege to work alongside you with your children. Having your input is very important to our centre and helps us grow and understand the needs of families more. We love sharing with families on a daily basis what your child has been up to and one way we do this is through the Daily Diary. This captures the children’s voices and experiences throughout the day and displayed in a book at the entrance to the room. We welcome you to stop and take in all that has been recorded for that day.
We place high importance on the child’s voice and use their words as much as possible in our documentation, whether this be displays on the wall or writing observations to place in the files. We use a child initiated approach to our programming thus rely heavily on valuing and respecting both what children and families have to contribute.
Every term each child will be given a goal which the Educators will program for and help your child work towards achieving. These goals are based around your individual child’s development and in correlation with the Early Years Learning Framework. Every term these with observations and evaluations will be emailed to parents, these are important documents that help you see how much your child has grown and developed in the term as well as a means for us to work alongside and with parents.
We welcome family input verbally, through emails or the Kidsxap. Please don’t hesitate to have your say and input into our program.
